Silversea Opens Winter 2028–29

Silversea's 103-voyage 2028–29 winter season opens for general sale on 8 October, with 29 new ports and a 75-night South America circumnavigation from Fort Lauderdale.

Silversea‘s next winter is on sale. The line’s Voyage Collection 2028–2029, previewed to Venetian Society members on 6 October, opens for general sale on 8 October. It runs from September 2028 to May 2029: 103 voyages, 219 destinations in 56 countries and 29 new ports.

For advisors, opening day is when the best suites on the marquee sailings go, and this collection is built around dated events that cannot move: Carnival in Venice and Rio, New Year’s Eve in Sydney and Funchal, cherry blossom in Japan and Lunar New Year in Hong Kong.

The headline voyage

Grand South America 2029 is a 75-night circumnavigation on Silver Nova, departing Fort Lauderdale on 13 January 2029 and returning 29 March. It includes a Panama Canal transit, scenic cruising off the Antarctic Peninsula, and overnights in Manaus, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires, Callao (for Lima) and Cartagena. According to Silversea, guests get a sunset reception in Gustavia, St. Barts, reserved Sambadrome viewing for Rio Carnival, and a private rooftop event in Cartagena.

  • Caribbean and Central America: 38 voyages on Silver Ray, Silver Nova, Silver Spirit and Silver Shadow, November 2028 to March 2029, round trip from Miami, Fort Lauderdale or San Juan. Silver Ray and Silver Spirit offer 8- to 12-day Miami round trips calling at St. Barts.
  • Mediterranean: 17 voyages on Silver Nova and Silver Dawn, October 2028 to March 2029, with new calls at Brindisi and Imperia. Silver Dawn overnights in Venice for Carnival and in Funchal for New Year’s Eve. Three sailings call at Alexandria with a Pyramids and Grand Egyptian Museum excursion.

She became a mom young and spent her twenties raising two kids, so she was 30 before she saw the ocean for the first time, in Aruba. Gliding through that clear Caribbean water on a Seabob felt like freedom, and she's been making up for lost time ever since. She always takes the window seat (she waited 30 years for the view), never travels without the feather pillow she's had since childhood (they're a package deal), and sizes up a new place with a local cocktail and some serious people-watching.
