Park Hyatt Toronto Makes the Readers’ Top Five
Park Hyatt Toronto says it ranked No. 4 in Eastern Canada in Condé Nast Traveler's 2026 Readers' Choice Awards. A guest-voted credential for any Yorkville pitch.
Park Hyatt Toronto says it ranked No. 4 among hotels in Eastern Canada in Condé Nast Traveler’s 2026 Readers’ Choice Awards, announced this week. The hotel says it has appeared in the awards for several consecutive years. For advisors selling Toronto’s crowded luxury tier, a guest-voted ranking is useful because it doesn’t come from the hotel itself.
The 2026 regional rankings began appearing in hotel announcements on 6 October. Sutton Place Hotels, for one, reported its Halifax and Toronto properties at 12th and 15th in the same Eastern Canada list, and said the results will also run in the magazine’s November issue. Readers vote on these awards, so the ranking reflects stays rather than inspections.
The hotel
The Park Hyatt opened in 1936 on Avenue Road, at the edge of Yorkville. It reopened in 2021 after what it calls a four-year transformation. The hotel has 219 rooms, including 40 suites, which it describes as more residential than standard hotel rooms. Many have views over Yorkville and the skyline. The Royal Ontario Museum and the Gardiner Museum are a short walk away.
The MICHELIN Guide gives the hotel one Key. The hotel also says it holds AAA Four Diamond status.
What sells it is the food and drink:
- Joni, the signature restaurant, is led by executive chef Jonathan Williams and serves contemporary Canadian food. It also hosts the hotel’s Global Chef Series. On 23 and 24 October, the guest chef is André “Matsumoto” Saburo, a Brazilian sushi chef whose restaurant is in Recife.
- Writers Room Bar, on the 17th floor, has floor-to-ceiling city views. The hotel says it has been named one of Canada’s 50 Best Bars. It also hosts the Writers Room Series of author talks moderated by journalist Shinan Govani. Past guests include Shari Lapena and Randy Boyagoda.
- Stillwater Spa has 11 treatment rooms, two couples’ suites, a sauna and steam rooms.
“There is no better affirmation of what we do than having guests return, recommend us and take the time to say that Park Hyatt Toronto is among their favourite hotels,” said general manager Eduardo Bressane.
For advisors
- Who to pitch: culture-focused clients who want to walk to the ROM, the Yorkville galleries and the Bloor Street shops; food clients for Joni’s guest-chef dates.
- When: the 23–24 October Global Chef Series dinners are the next fixed date. The Writers Room Series also suits literary clients; ask the hotel for upcoming authors.
- What to book: one of the 40 suites for longer stays. The hotel says its rooms are designed to feel residential.
- What to watch: the full 2026 Readers’ Choice list in Condé Nast Traveler’s November issue, to see where Park Hyatt sits against Toronto’s other luxury hotels.
