Cambridge House, Auberge Collection

Cambridge House is Auberge Collection’s first hotel in the UK, set in a Grade I-listed Palladian mansion at 94 Piccadilly, between Green Park and Shepherd Market. Owner Reuben Brothers is restoring it as the centrepiece of a £1 billion regeneration of its Piccadilly Estate, and it is one of the most design-led London openings of 2027.

The building and design

The house was commissioned in 1756 by the 2nd Earl of Egremont. Prince Adolphus, Duke of Cambridge, later lived here, Queen Victoria visited, and Lord Palmerston used it as his London home. From 1865 to 1999 it was the Naval and Military Club, the famous In & Out. Jean-Louis Deniot is designing the hotel and guest spaces, while Laura Gonzalez takes the signature bar, the wellbeing floors and a members’ club.

Rooms and suites

There are 102 rooms, 24 of them suites. The six historic suites on the piano nobile can be combined into roughly 6,500 sq ft, which will interest families and entourages.

Eat, drink and wellness

Major Food Group, the team behind Carbone and Torrisi, is opening Major’s in the restored Georgian ballroom and courtyard: an American chophouse crossed with a London grill, with seafood towers, caviar, game and spit-roasted prime rib carved tableside. The bar promises at least ten martini variations. Below ground, Baeden House spreads across three floors with Roman bathhouse references, a heated pool, hydrotherapy, six treatment rooms, a gym and a circular relaxation lounge around a fire pit.

What it means for advisors

This suits North American clients who already know Auberge from its US resorts and want the same service style in London, plus design and history buffs who will appreciate the building. Mayfair and St James’s shopping, the Royal Academy and Green Park are on the doorstep. The members’ club, due later in 2027, should make the public spaces lively, so position it for social travellers rather than those wanting total seclusion. Spring and early summer will be the hardest dates to secure.

Opening status

Auberge opened reservations on 15 September 2026 for a 1 February 2027 opening. The same release also says reservations are available from 1 April 2027, so confirm the first bookable night before promising February dates. The members’ club follows later in 2027.
