Holland America Line has opened bookings for five new voyages on Oosterdam, the first ship to come out of Holland America Evolution. The line calls the programme its largest fleet investment in 153 years. For clients who like to be first aboard, the inaugural post-refit sailing leaves on 31 October 2027.

What changes on board

Evolution brings Pinnacle Class features to older ships. On Oosterdam that means new stateroom and suite categories, including purpose-built Solo Verandahs, forward-facing Bridgeview Suites, Vista Suites and a reimagined Pinnacle Suite. The ship also gets Grand Dutch Café and a redesigned Ocean Bar. The work, in Marseille, now starts earlier than first planned, which the line puts down to demand.

The five voyages

  • 31 Oct 2027: 10-day Adriatic Antiquities, Civitavecchia (Rome) to Trieste, via Pompeii, Sicily, Corfu, the Bay of Kotor and the Croatian coast. The inaugural post-Evolution sailing.
  • 10 Nov 2027: 11-day Adriatic Antiquities: Croatia, Greek Isles and Istanbul, Trieste to Piraeus.
  • 21 Nov 2027: 7-day Mediterranean Splendor: Greek Isles and Malta, Piraeus to Barcelona.
  • 28 Nov 2027: 13-day Cultural Crossing: Spain and Gibraltar, Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale.
  • 11 Dec 2027: 11-day Caribbean, round trip from Fort Lauderdale.

“One of the great joys of travel is being among the first to discover something new,” said Beth Bodensteiner, Holland America Line‘s president.

For advisors

  • Who to pitch: loyal Holland America guests who want the new product first, and solo travellers. Solo Verandahs are the headline category, and solo cabins are always scarce.
  • The crossing: the 13-day Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale sailing suits clients who want to cross by sea rather than fly, and ends close to home for East Coast clients.
  • Book now: inaugural sailings and new cabin categories sell first.
