Here is every break in the 2026-27 school year, the public holidays, and a calendar you can add in one tap.

Dates from Vancouver School Board (School District 39). BC districts set their own calendars; VSB says its winter and spring breaks are aligned with other Metro Vancouver districts, but Pro-D days and breaks elsewhere in BC can differ. Dates below are the VSB calendar.

What these dates do to demand

  • Metro Vancouver's two-week spring break (15 to 26 March 2027, running into the Easter long weekend) is the main family-travel window out of YVR before summer.
  • Easter Monday and Boxing Day are not statutory holidays in BC, although VSB schools close on both.
  • BC's spring break is earlier than Alberta, Saskatchewan and Manitoba in 2027, so western Canadian family demand is spread over roughly three weeks rather than one.
