Choice Hotels International has opened its 600th extended-stay hotel: Everhome Suites Denver Airport, less than 10 miles from Denver International. It is a franchise milestone, but the numbers behind it say more about where long-stay demand is going.

The numbers

  • 12 consecutive quarters of double-digit room growth in Choice’s extended-stay segment
  • 13% net room growth year on year in the second quarter of 2026
  • nearly 30,000 extended-stay rooms in the development pipeline
  • four brands: Everhome Suites, MainStay Suites, Suburban Studios and WoodSpring Suites

Choice calls itself the largest franchised multi-brand portfolio in economy and midscale extended stay. The Denver hotel’s market, it says, runs on the demand that drives the segment: healthcare, logistics, construction, infrastructure and big employers.

“The opening of our 600th property is a celebration of how far we’ve come and a signal of where we’re headed, with Everhome Suites leading the way,” said Matt McElhare, Choice’s extended-stay segment lead. The owner, Rimrock Companies, says it has several more Everhome Suites in the pipeline.

Why it matters

Extended stay used to be a niche for project workers. Studio and one-bedroom suites with full kitchens now also suit relocations, medical stays and families on long trips. Choice’s growth shows owners are betting the demand will last.

For advisors

  • Who it serves: corporate clients on multi-week projects, relocating families and anyone travelling for medical treatment.
  • Where it helps: airport and suburban markets where full-service hotels are thin and pricey for long stays.
  • Watch: Everhome’s pace of openings as the brand Choice is building its long-stay future on.
