The Park Gstaad, a Four Seasons Hotel
The Park Gstaad opened in 1910 as Gstaad’s first five-star hotel, and after a full renovation it will reopen as The Park Gstaad, a Four Seasons Hotel. That makes it Four Seasons’ first hotel in one of the Alps’ most exclusive villages. The owner is philanthropist and investor Dona Bertarelli, and the renovation is being led by Squircle Capital.
The building and design
French designer Joseph Dirand, who did the interiors of Four Seasons Hotel at The Surf Club in Miami, is designing the interiors. The hotel is within walking distance of the village centre. Alongside the hotel, a collection of Penthouse Residences will be sold and managed by Four Seasons.
Rooms and suites
There will be 75 rooms and suites, many with furnished private balconies.
Eat and drink
Four Seasons has promised its own restaurant and bar concepts without naming them. TravelSort, an agency covering the opening, reports seven food and drink outlets, including Japanese, Swiss and a modern steakhouse.
Wellness
The destination spa will have indoor and outdoor pools and a fitness centre. TravelSort reports six treatment rooms, two of them dedicated to Clinique La Prairie, plus a yoga and Pilates studio. Other facilities include a tennis court, ski and bike services, Kids For All Seasons and an ice rink in winter.
What it means for advisors
Gstaad’s high-end beds are dominated by long-established independent hotels, and many clients who stay loyal to Four Seasons have had no reason to try it. The hotel is designed for both seasons, so pitch it for summer hiking, festivals and tennis as well as ski weeks. It is about two hours by road from Geneva, with Bern the closest airport, and works well alongside Zermatt or St. Moritz on a Swiss rail itinerary. Four Seasons Preferred Partner advisors should expect the usual benefits once the hotel loads into the programme.
Opening status
Four Seasons announced the deal in January 2025 and said the hotel would reopen in time for the 2027 summer season. In May 2026 it named Reto Moser as general manager, again pointing to a summer 2027 opening. No exact date or rates have been published.
