Rosewood Milan

Rosewood Milan will occupy two 19th-century buildings, Palazzo Branca and the Palazzo della Banca Commerciale, once home to the Italian Commercial Bank, on the edge of the Quadrilatero della Moda and steps from Via Montenapoleone. It will be Rosewood’s fourth hotel in Italy, after Rosewood Rome, Rosewood Hotel Bauer in Venice and Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco in Tuscany. Real estate firm Gruppo Statuto appointed Rosewood to manage it.

The building and design

Rosewood describes the design as contemporary and in step with historic Milan, but it has not named the architect or interior designer. The address alone does a lot of the work: the hotel sits in the city’s fashion district, with Brera, La Scala and the Duomo all within a short walk.

Rooms and suites

The plan is for 70 rooms, about 20 of them suites. That is a small count for a Milan luxury hotel, which matters during fashion weeks and the Salone del Mobile, when the city fills up and inventory goes quickly.

  • One bar and restaurant set around a courtyard and garden
  • Asaya, Rosewood’s wellness concept, with three treatment rooms
  • An indoor pool and a fitness centre

What it means for advisors

This suits fashion, design and shopping clients who want to walk out of the door and into Via Montenapoleone, and returning Rosewood guests building an Italian circuit with Rome, Venice and Tuscany. With one restaurant and a three-room spa, it is a city base rather than a resort, so plan dining around the neighbourhood. Expect demand to spike around fashion weeks and Salone del Mobile in April, and quote those dates early. Rosewood’s Rosewood Elite programme for advisors is the natural booking route once reservations open.

Opening status

Rosewood’s press release and property page both say the hotel will open in 2027. No month has been published, and reservations are not yet open. The date has already moved: when the project was first announced in October 2022, trade coverage reported a 2025 opening, and later lists carried 2026. Treat 2027 as a target until Rosewood names an opening month, and hold off on promising clients a specific stay.
