Rosewood Mexico City

Rosewood Mexico City will occupy the main tower of the expansion of Antara, a mixed-use development of offices, shops and restaurants in Polanco. It was designed by Sordo Madaleno Arquitectos, the same Mexico City firm behind the Park Hyatt opening nearby, and developed by Grupo Sordo Madaleno, which appointed Rosewood to run it. Together with Park Hyatt, it makes 2027 an unusually busy year for top-end hotels in Polanco.

Polanco is the city’s polished, walkable district for shopping and food. The hotel is within walking distance of Avenida Presidente Masaryk, Museo Soumaya and Museo Jumex, which makes it an easy base for art-focused clients.

Rooms and suites

Rosewood plans 133 rooms, 35 of them suites. Food and drink will run across four outlets: an all-day bistro, a poolside bar and grill, a living room and a specialty dining venue. There will also be 1,270 square metres of meeting and event space. No restaurant names or chefs have been announced.

Wellness

The hotel will include an outpost of Asaya, Rosewood’s wellness concept, with two swimming pools, a fitness and wellbeing centre, eight treatment rooms and thermal wet areas. Rosewood says Asaya will be open to the local community as well as hotel guests, so expect it to feel lived-in rather than hotel-quiet.

What it means for advisors

This suits clients who want the Rosewood style of residential, art-literate hospitality in a city that rewards walking and eating. It pairs naturally with a beach stay elsewhere in Mexico. Rosewood Elite is the brand’s preferred partner programme; check whether this hotel participates once it loads into booking systems. Clients choosing between the two Polanco newcomers can weigh Rosewood’s smaller size and Asaya wellness against Park Hyatt’s park views and World of Hyatt points.

Opening status

Rosewood’s website and press release say the hotel will open in 2027. The original 2021 announcement gave 2026, so the date has already moved once. No opening month or booking date has been published, and we found no construction update since then.
