Rosewood Calistoga

Rosewood Calistoga will be the brand’s third California property, on 118 acres of forested ridgeline above the town of Calistoga at the northern end of Napa Valley. The resort combines guest rooms and suites with Rosewood Residences Calistoga, a collection of 20 private villas and 13 homesites. Rosewood announced it in August 2025.

The building and design

Design studio Atelier Marsh is leading the work and, in Rosewood’s words, carrying forward the legacy of the late architect Ed Tuttle, who set the original vision for the site. Interiors are planned around natural materials and locally inspired motifs, with the buildings stepping across the hillside.

Eat and drink

Food leans on what grows on site and nearby. Rosewood lists:

• a signature restaurant with a changing earth-to-table menu using produce from the resort’s gardens and local farms
• an intimate cocktail bar with its own wine program
• a poolside restaurant with vineyard views
• cooking workshops and vineyard dinners under the stars

Wellness sits with Asaya, Rosewood’s integrative spa concept, here with six treatment rooms, an outdoor garden, hydrotherapy and a fitness centre.

What it means for advisors

Most luxury Napa resorts are built for couples. Rosewood Calistoga is designed for families as well, with two pools (one adults-only, one for families) and a Rosewood Explorers kids’ club, so it can handle multigenerational trips and friends travelling together. More than 20,000 sq ft of indoor and outdoor event space makes it a candidate for weddings and incentive groups. Calistoga’s hot springs and the northern Napa wineries are on the doorstep, and Sonoma is within easy reach. Rosewood Elite, the brand’s preferred partner program, should apply, so check eligibility closer to opening.

Opening status

Rosewood’s August 2025 announcement gives an opening in 2027. No month has been confirmed and reservations have not opened. The announcement was carried by the hotel trade press, including Hotel Online and HOTELS magazine.
