Direct booking

What does direct booking mean in travel?

The definition

A reservation made straight with the hotel, airline or cruise line rather than through an agency or OTA.

What it really means

Booking without a middleman, and without a backup.

In the wild

“Direct bookings get points, but advisors get the perks.”
