Self-Guided, Fully Handled

Eurobike and Eurohike's four new 2027 self-guided tours, from €899, give advisors an easy add-on for solo and couple clients who want wellness and effort without a group.

Self-guided active travel sits in an odd spot in many advisors’ books. Clients want it, but at €900 a tour it looks like too little revenue to bother with. Eurofun Touristik’s new 2027 programs from its Eurobike and Eurohike brands make the case for selling it anyway. They are low-touch to book, run on long departure windows and suit two client types that luxury agencies see more of: the solo traveller and the active couple.

The company has announced four new self-guided tours for 2027: two cycling (Northern Portugal, Slovenia) and two walking (Cinque Terre, and a crossing of the Alps from Germany to Italy). As with the rest of its range, Eurofun describes the format as a “seamless, all-in-one package” with luggage transfers, on-site support, travel documents and selected hotels. Clients ride or walk on their own, and the logistics are handled.

The four new tours

Eurobike: Northern Portugal – Alto Minho Based in One Hotel with Charm. Seven days, daily departures from 13 February to 28 November 2027, from €899 per person. The tour uses a single base, Hotel FeelViana, for rides along the Atlantic coast and into the river valleys and villages inland. Staying put suits less experienced cyclists, and the long season reaches into shoulder months.

Eurobike: Slovenia – From the Julian Alps to the Sea. Seven days, Saturday departures from 4 April to 2 October 2027, from €949 per person. The route runs from the Julian Alps through the Sava valley, past Lake Bled, the Postojna caves and the karst, and finishes on the Adriatic around Trieste, the Slovenian coast and Piran.

Eurohike: Cinque Terre and the Ligurian Coast. Seven days, Saturday and Sunday departures from 27 March to 10 October 2027, from €899 per person. Walkers start from Portofino and the bay of San Fruttuoso, follow trails through the five villages from Monterosso to Riomaggiore, and finish on the high path to Porto Venere.

Eurohike: Crossing the Alps: Garmisch–Bolzano. Ten days, Thursday to Sunday departures from 12 June to 19 September 2027, from €1,459 per person. This is the most demanding of the four. It runs from Garmisch via Mittenwald and the Nordkette to Innsbruck, then through the Gschnitz and Obernberg valleys, and crosses the main ridge of the Alps at about 2,000 metres at Sandjöchl before descending through Sterzing and Brixen to Bolzano.

Why it fits now

Virtuoso‘s 2027 Luxe Report, published the same day, supports the pitch. Among top solo travel experiences, health and wellness is No. 1 and adventure travel and trekking No. 2. Women-only solo travel debuts at No. 4, cited by 30 percent of advisors. Virtuoso says solo guests are building trips “around what they hope to achieve rather than where they want to visit.” The Alps crossing fits that brief well: Eurohike describes the 10 days as reaching Bolzano “under your own power.”

There is also a destination fit. Italy is Virtuoso’s No. 1 solo destination, and the Cinque Terre tour gives advisors a way to sell Italy that isn’t another Rome–Florence–Venice loop. Slovenia and Alto Minho both fall off the usual map, which suits clients who have done the big names.

The revenue case

A self-guided tour on its own is a modest booking. Its value is in what goes around it. Every one of these tours starts and ends somewhere a luxury client will want to stay longer: Porto before Alto Minho, Venice or Trieste after Slovenia, Milan or the Italian Riviera around Cinque Terre, Munich before Garmisch, the Dolomites after Bolzano. Add flights, rail, upgraded hotels and recovery nights, and an €899 booking becomes a full itinerary. The long departure windows (daily for Portugal, weekends for Cinque Terre, four days a week for the Alps) make that easy to plan around a client’s calendar.

For advisors

  • Pitch the Alps crossing to fit, goal-driven clients (solo or in pairs) who want an achievement trip in summer 2027. Departures run 12 June to 19 September.
  • Use Alto Minho or Cinque Terre for first-timers. The single-hotel Portugal format and the shorter Ligurian stages are gentler starts, and Portugal runs from February to November.
  • Build the bookends. Sell pre- and post-tour hotel nights, rail and flights. That is where most of the margin on a sub-€1,000 tour is.
  • Check the fine print for solo clients. Confirm single supplements, e-bike availability on the cycling tours and trade terms with Eurofun before quoting. The release doesn’t cover them.
